According to the press release and the letter dated 9.02.2023 (no: 10573) of the Council of Higher Education regarding the postponement of the start of the spring semester in all higher education institutions until a further notice, due to the earthquake that occurred on 6.02.2023 and directly affected 10 provinces, the start of the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year and the course registrations that were to take place between 13 and 17.02.2023 have been postponed to a later date.
As stated in the letters of the Council of Higher Education (d. 10.02.2023) and the press release (d. 11.02.2023), the Council of Higher Education has decided that it is advisable to complete the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year through distance education due to the effects of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake disaster throughout the country.
The Senate of our University will covene on 13.02.2023 and will discuss the three-course exams, exemption exams, and the academic calendar of the spring semester in line with the current developments.
In this process, our University is using all communication channels with great care, especially the geribildirim.hacettepe.edu.tr platform, to determine the situation of our students, especially those living in the earthquake zone, and to help them to the best of its ability.

"Due to the effects of the Kahramanmaraş-centred earthquake disaster throughout the country, the Council of Higher Education has decided that it is advisable to complete the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year through distance education. Details regarding distance education, measures to be taken in this regard, health programmes such as medicine, dentistry, internship and workplace training, and related issues will be evaluated separately and communicated to the public in the coming days."
