APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION
Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901. As per the provision in Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 stating that “(1) A child born to a Turkish mother or father within the unity of marriage either in Turkey or abroad is a Turkish citizen”, you are deemed a Turkish citizen, even if you were born in a foreign country and have dual citizenship. In this case, if you have studied high school in Turkey, your application as an international student will be considered invalid.
However, you can apply as an international student in the event of renouncing your citizenship and obtaining a Blue Card, which is an official card given to those who are Turkish citizens by birth and renounce citizenship by his/her own will.
If you are not a Turkish citizen by birth, but acquired it later, you can apply as an international student even if you have studied high school in Turkey, by documenting your situation with a certificate of identity register.
According to the principles of the Higher Education Council (YÖK in Turkish); if you have started your high school education earlier than 01 February 2013, then you must study the last three years of high school education in a foreign country; whereas you must fulfill your education entirely in a foreign country, in case you have started your education later than the date in question.

As you have completed your high school education in Turkey, your application as an international student will be considered invalid.
At the time of application, the process of renouncing your Turkish citizenship must be completed and you must be holding a Blue Card. Otherwise, your application will be deemed invalid.
Those who have completed high school education in TRNC must first meet the minimum GCE A Level criteria as specified in the Directive, in order to be eligible to apply as an international student. In this case, the application you make with SAT or ACT scores will be considered invalid.
You can apply with your predicted grades that you will get from your school. However, in the event of admission, you will forfeit your right to register if you fail to meet your predicted grades.

No, your application documents will be stored electronically. You do not need to send them by post.

No, documents sent via e-mail are not accepted. Applications that are not submitted through the online application system are not taken into consideration.
No, it will suffice to upload the PDF print of your score during the application process. All documents are stored electronically. The original score report sent by ETS will be required for registration in case of your admission to the University.
No, only your SAT 1 score will be considered.
No, a language proficiency certificate is not required during application. However, in the event of your admission, you can submit your language proficiency certificate (if any) at the stage of registration to be exempt from the preparatory class. Your certificate will be evaluated by the School of Foreign Languages or Language Teaching, Application and Research Center (TÖMER) of Hacettepe University.
If you do not hold any kind of language proficiency certificate, you need to take the language proficiency exam depending on the medium of instruction in the program you are admitted to, which will be conducted by our university after the registration process.
You can use a document issued by your school indicating that you are in your last year of secondary education, or your expected date of graduation.
Only the required documents specified in our announcement are taken into consideration. Also, there are no fields in our application system where such additional documents can be uploaded. You can submit your additional documents to the Committee if you are invited for an interview.
Yes. According to the decision of the Higher Education Council, the number of Turkish citizens by birth and holders of the Blue Card may not exceed 10% of those placed in the programs of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Education. Students who certify their later acquisition of Turkish citizenship are not subject to this quota limit.
No. Your rank and the quota of the respective program determine whether you will be invited for an interview for your preferred program. For a program, the number of candidates invited for an interview can be no more than three times the quota of the respective program.

SOCIAL AND FINANCIAL ISSUES
A limited number of accommodation services are provided in the Sıhhiye and Beytepe Campuses of our university, including dormitories for boys and girls, student houses, guest houses (https://www.hacettepe.edu.tr/yerleskede-yasam/barinma).
Application for accommodation is made through the dormitory application screen on the website of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS). It is obligatory to obtain a Hacettepe e-mail address and password for the application. (You can get your Hacettepe e-mail from https://portal.hacettepe.edu.tr/hesap/yeni-hesap/dogrulama)
Students who do not have a foreign ID number can get their Hacettepe e-mail address by contacting the IT Department (https://bidb.hacettepe.edu.tr/) by defining their passport number to the system instead of the foreign ID number.
The dormitory application can be made by logging into the dormitory application system from the SKS web page "student information system" screen (//yurt2.hacettepe.edu.tr) with "username", e-mail address (without the @hacettepe.edu.tr extension) and "password" (password sent to you).
Yes, Turkish citizens and Blue Card holders who have registered to our University as an international student as of 2021-2022 Academic Year pay the tuition fee as the other international students.
No, the tuition fee does not include extra costs such as books, course materials and housing services.
No, Hacettepe University does not offer any scholarships to international students.
After the initial registration to the university, the list of documents required for a residence permit will be sent to your e-mail addresses. You can also find this list on our website. You must submit these documents to Student Affairs Office in person or by post within 30 days of your initial registration. The university submits your documents to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for your first residence permit application after the initial registration. However, students who fail to submit their documents within a month or will apply for a residence permit extension later during the study period should handle the residence permit process themselves.
Foreign students attending an associate, undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate Programme in Turkey may work, provided that they obtain a work permit. However, the right to work for associate and undergraduate students starts after the first year(of their study). Work permit applications are made to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
EDUCATION
Yes, if you are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, you can apply for a transfer after studying for at least two (2) semesters, or at least one (1) semester in the case of an associate degree program, provided that you have achieved a minimum 2.75/4 GPA and the program you wish to transfer to offers a quota to the program you are enrolled in. Transfer applications open twice a year (at the end of the semesters) and are announced on the website of the Student Affairs Office. You can find the regulations on transfers at:
